About Us

ME2 Design Bistro®, LLC is a boutique graphic design agency. In other words, we’re a two-person digital creative team providing personalized design services, catering to your needs. Collaborating with our clientele, we design digital media for print, web and/or mobile use. In addition to our day-to-day design projects, we have created two unique services - the ME2 Menu® and ME2 Calendar® - designed for the hotel and restaurant industries. These digital products and mobile services can also be applied across other markets. Backstory

Logo design is one of the most difficult tasks a designer takes on. Ten years ago company founder and graphic designer, Robin Sherwood was looking for a freelancer to assist with work on a logistical nightmare of a logo. A chance on-line meeting with the charming, whip-smart and almost annoyingly persistent fellow designer Ignacio “Nacho” Pintos turned into a decade-long creative team approach. It was this meeting of two minds – two generations and two worlds founded on a heavy dose of humor and built with a mutual respect for one another’s varied skills and cultural differences that helped Robin reimagine an entirely new business venture. Formerly known as Sherwood & Company, ME2 Design Bistro®, LLC is based in Connecticut and strives to combine the best of both worlds; old traditions with new technology while bridging the gap between print and mobile. With their hands-on, heads-in experience in the print, ad, and newspaper industries along with clientele from the association management, sales and marketing, travel and tourism, hotel and restaurant industries, ME2 Design Bistro covers a lot of ground.

The Team

ROBIN Sherwood

Founder, owner and Creative Director of ME2 Design Bistro®, LLC, Robin not only thinks outside of the box, she draws outside of the lines. The ultimate “creative type” with an eye for design and the gift of gab, she loves nothing more than moving words and pictures around on a page until they are absolutely just right.

An English major and writing minor with a brief foray into abnormal psychology, she began her circuitous career as a newspaper reporter before discovering her true love of page layout and graphic design. With the advent of the internet she witnessed the seismic shift from old technology to new and quickly learned to adapt her skills. Seizing the opportunity to get out of the darkroom – from cutting and pasting galleys on a light table – she made the leap to desktop publishing, the Mac and it’s endless design possibilities.

Prior to starting her own venture, Robin honed her technical and artistic skills at a design house, a commercial print shop, an ad agency and public relations firm. Before rebranding her new company under the name ME2 Design Bistro®, LLC in 2014, she was a solopreneur and founder of Sherwood & Company, a graphic design and communications service.

A long-time New England denizen and lover of the capital city of Hartford, she manages the business from the black bear exurbs of Bloomfield, CT. When she’s not brainstorming and collaborating with her clients, she enjoys hiking, photography and searching for the elusive bobcat.

IGNACIO “Nacho” Pintos

Proud son of a print shop owner, Nacho is the third generation in the Pintos family to immerse himself in the business. Ink runs in his blood and his wife - a certified nurse - can attest to that. A skilled graphic designer, prepress specialist and digital maverick, Nacho quickly worked his way up at Central de Impresiones Ltda and went on to serve an apprenticeship at Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial, Brazil. Driven to succeed, he studied English with a tutor and on his own in his part time. He is also a teacher at heart and enjoys leading design and prepress classes with students and agency professionals at the BIOS Universidad, Uruguay, Unidad Asesora en Comunicación del Ministerio de Desarrollo Social and

Lussich Adv. among others.

Nacho is comfortable working with clients and vendors of all stripes, from paper manufacturers and ink providers to IT and web experts. He also loves a good challenge - almost as much as he enjoys finding the answers – so, if you’ve got a design question or problem, he’s your man.

When not collaborating, designing or teaching he enjoys playing with his 5 yr. old daughter Sofía who has learned the art of the “high-five”, walking his devoted dog Simon and watching movies in English with his wife Monica.

What exactly is a ME² Menu® or ME² Calendar®TM you ask?

A ME² Menu® or a ME² Calendar® is a feature rich mobile edition of its printed counterpart. M = Mobile, E = Edition.
Simple, right? What about the weird superscript number two? You had to ask. That refers to the powerful add ons, or rather the interactivity and interactive bonus features – chef’s recipes, photos for foodies, videos, social media links, reviews, you name it! This all adds up to something kind of . . . we don’t want to say, “magical” even though . . . well, actually . . . it is! So, to recap, a ME² Menu® or a ME² Calendar® is a mobile edition with powerful interactive features that complement and enhance your traditional printed menu or calendar. Designed for any type of hotel lobby, bar or restaurant a ME² Menu® or a ME² Calendar® can be tailored to your property or establishment to include special events, happy hours, sports & entertainment schedules and more. With a simple link and/or a snap of a QR code to access our mobile editions can be viewed any time, any where on any device.

How Does it Work?

First, we’ll consult with you closely during the information gathering stage and collaborate with you throughout the design process. Once you’ve provided us with your menu copy and/or calendar content we’ll begin the design production. After the proofing process is completed and the designs and layouts approved, the magic begins! Final print edition files are sent to a print vendor of your choice. For mobile editions, we’ll generate a QR Code and work with your IT or web peeps to lock and load the ME² Menu® and/or ME² Calendar® within your existing site or within ours – the choice is yours. We provide the option of hosting mobile editions on our site for a small monthly fee. Whether it’s a mobile edition menu, a happy hour or events calendar – your ME² Menu® or ME² Calendar® can be accessed in a snap via the QR Code included on signage we’ll provide to help promote your offerings. The only requirement is a QR Reader or QR Scanner app to access the content. QR code readers are typically free and often come preloaded on most mobile devices today. It’s as simple as that!

Keep in mind, the ME² Menu® is designed to include Bonus Features printed menus don’t have room for or can’t, i.e. chef recipes, photos for foodies, welcome videos and more! And the ME² Calendar® can be tailored to your establishment’s Happy Hours, specials, sporting or entertainment events. The beauty of the ME² Menu® and ME² Calendar® is that they are mobile optimized and can be viewed any time, any where, on any device – in a dimly lit restaurant or on a plane, in a train or a cab, in a hotel lobby before dining and deciding what to eat or during a meal to check out the specials, or afterwards to try out a recipe at home or save for later to share with friends!
